OneDrive Sync Issues

Summary

Troubleshooting steps for users having OneDrive syncing issues

Body

Troubleshooting procedures when experiencing problems with OneDrive syncing.

The first troubleshooting step would be to check that you can access OneDrive online:

  1. Select the white or blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar

       2. Select More

      3. Select View Online

If you are able to see account online and it is still not syncing, run the latest Windows Updates.

Note: Make sure the filenames and file types are supported. Make sure that the file doesn't contain any unsupported characters (such as <, >, :, ", |, ?, *, /, \) or that the folder includes any unsupported file types

If none of the above steps solved the issue, try to unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup again

You will not lose files or data by disabling, uninstalling or unlinking OneDrive on your computer. You can always access the files by signing in to OneDrive online.

      1. Select the white or blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar

       2. Select More > Settings

      3. Click Unlink this PC

      4. Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive
