Overview

Your MAC address (also called a Wi‑Fi Address, Physical Address, or Hardware Address) is a unique identifier assigned to the network card inside your device. FAU uses the MAC address to register your device on the wireless network.

Follow the instructions below to locate your MAC address on your specific device.

What is a MAC Address?

A MAC Address is a 12‑digit alphanumeric code (for example: A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6) used to identify your device on the network.

You may see it listed as:

  • Wi‑Fi Address
  • Wireless MAC
  • Hardware Address
  • Physical Address
  • Ethernet MAC (if wired)

Most devices have separate MAC addresses for Wi‑Fi and Ethernet.
