Overview
FAU uses Microsoft Outlook 365 for all student, faculty, and staff email accounts.
You can access your email on any device using any of the following:
Outlook Web App
You can sign in immediately using your browser on any device:
- Go to https://outlook.office.com
- Sign in with your FAU credentials
Set Up Email in the Outlook App
These are general steps to set up your email on any device whether you're using an iPhone, Android, Windows, or Mac.
1. Download the Outlook App
- iPhone/iPad: App Store → Microsoft Outlook
- Android: Google Play Store → Microsoft Outlook
- Windows/Mac: Included with Microsoft 365 apps
2. Open Outlook and select Add Account
3. Enter your FAU email address
4. Enter your FAU password
The app should automatically configure the rest.
5. Accept the default settings
You can choose to sync email, contacts, and calendars.
Alternate Method: Native Mail Apps
If you prefer the built‑in mail apps (Apple Mail, Samsung Mail, Windows Mail):
Use the following settings:
- Account Type: Microsoft 365 / Exchange
- Email Address
- Password: your FAU password
- Server (if required): outlook.office365.com
- Authentication: Required
Most modern devices detect Microsoft 365 automatically.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your email won’t set up:
- Make sure you are using your full FAU email address
- Confirm your password works with another FAU system
- Remove the account and re‑add it in Outlook
- Verify your two‑factor authentication is setup and working
