The employee's supervisor must submit a request for the student employee to gain access to the departmental account mailbox. Supervisors can submit this request at https://helpdesk.fau.edu/TDClient/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=4298
Once given access to a departmental account, student employees on Owl Mail must use the following link format to open the mailbox:
outlook.fau.edu/owa/departmentnamegoeshere@fau.edu
For example, a student employee on Owl Mail is attempting to access the departmental account Owlsey@fau.edu. The student employee must use outlook.fau.edu/owa/Owlsey@fau.edu and their own FAUNetID and password to open the mailbox.
Please note, calendar access via the Outlook Web Access is no longer supported and in order to access the calendar the Outlook client must be set up.
In order to access the calendar, the Outlook desktop Application needs to be setup:
Outlook already setup, you can just add the account:
File > Account Settings > Account settings (again) > New > Type departmental account full email > When user name / password option pops up remove the departmental account listed and enter FAU email address and password. The departmental account mailbox will show on left-pane and be added to the Outlook application.
Outlook not previously setup:
Search for the control panel > Select Mail (Microsoft outlook) (32-bit) > Show profiles > Select Add > Create a new profile name > OK > Type departmental account full email > When user name / password option pops up remove the departmental account listed and enter FAU email address and password > make sure to select always use this profile: new profile name > OK > open outlook application.
