Eduroam is an world wide roaming service for users in higher education. It provides professors and students easy and secure network access when visiting an institution other than their own. Wherever you see ‘eduroam’ appear in your list of Wi-Fi networks, you can get online using your FAU credentials.
Connecting to eduroam using Windows
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on your device.
- Select Eduroam and click Connect.
- Username: Enter your FAU NetID.
- Password: Enter your FAU password.
Connecting to eduroam using Mac OS
- Click the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Select Eduroam.
- Username: Enter your FAU NetID.
- Password: Enter your FAU password.
- Click Join.
- You are now connected and can begin browsing.
Connecting to eduroam using iOS
- Open Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Select Eduroam from the list.
- Username: Enter your FAU NetID.
- Password: Enter your FAU password.
- Tap Join.
- When prompted about the certificate, tap Trust.
- You are now connected and can begin browsing.
Connecting to eduroam using Android
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Select Eduroam.
- Identity: Enter your FAU NetID.
- Password: Enter your FAU password.
- CA Certificate: Select Do not validate.
(Your phone may show a warning: “No certificate specified. Your connection will not be private.”)
- Tap Save.
- You are now connected and can begin browsing.
Connecting to eduroam using Google Pixel
- EAP Method: Select TTLS.
- Phase 2 Authentication: Select PAP.
- CA Certificate: Select Trust On First Use.
- Identity: Enter your FAU NetID.
- Password: Enter your FAU password.
- Anonymous Identity: Leave blank.
- When prompted, select Yes, Connect to trust the network.
