The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides shared servers where individuals and departments can share files for network retrieval. Those file storage spaces are either ANDI or ANDISEC shared drives.
OIT provides file storage space that is available on the campus network. When you log in to the campus network via a computer in a lab or office, or via the wireless network, you will see various drives labeled M through T, depending on your role in the University. Below is a list of the drive names and who has access to them:
- M drive - Personal
- N drive - University wide
- O drive - College/Division
- P drive - Department/subdivision
- Q drive - University wide, read only
- R, S, and T drives - Special purpose
ANDI ("M") Drive
Everyone in the University community has a personal drive (designated as the "M" drive) to which only he or she has access. Your "M" drive is set up so that one folder, which is labeled "web," is accessible via the Internet. Any files you put in that folder can be accessed via the Internet, regardless of whether the files are html, image, or document file types. To obtain access to the "M" drive off campus, follow these steps:
- Go to http://andi.fau.edu.
- Enter your FAU\FAUNet ID in the "User Home Directory Log-On:" text box to log in.
- Select your role.
- Click "Submit."
- On the next page, select "Open" for either the Web Browser View or Web Page View.
- Enter your FAU Network (Active Directory) FAUNet Id and password in the pop-up window.
The default quota for M Drive is 200 MB. The URL for those files on your M drive is:
http://home.fau.edu/ <Your FAUNet ID> /web/
