ANDI and ANDISEC Shared Drives

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides shared servers for specific departments and authorized users to securely store and share files on the campus network. These shared spaces are hosted on ANDI or ANDISEC servers and are referred to as ANDI and ANDISEC drives.

Drive Letters and Access

When connected to the campus network from a university-managed computer, you may see shared drives assigned to specific letters. Access depends on your role at FAU:

  • M: Personal drive storage
  • N: University-wide shared resources
  • O: College or Division-level storage
  • P: Department or subdivision storage
  • Q: University-wide, read-only resources
  • R, S, T: Special-purpose storage

ANDI ("M") Personal Drive

Everyone in the University community has a personal drive (designated as the "M" drive) to which only he or she has access. Your "M" drive is set up so that one folder, which is labeled "web," is accessible via the Internet. Any files you put in that folder can be accessed via the Internet, regardless of whether the files are html, image, or document file types. To obtain access to the "M" drive off campus, follow these steps:

  • Go to http://andi.fau.edu.
  • Enter your FAU\FAUNet ID in the "User Home Directory Log-On:" text box to log in.
  • Select your role.
  • Click "Submit."
  • On the next page, select "Open" for either the Web Browser View or Web Page View.
  • Enter your FAU Network (Active Directory) FAUNet Id and password in the pop-up window.

The default quota for M Drive is 3GB. The URL for those files on your M drive is:

http://home.fau.edu/ <Your FAUNet ID> /web/

Cloud Storage Alternatives

For data requiring cloud access and enhanced security, consider using approved secure storage solutions. Visit Cloud Storage Applications to view a list of approved cloud storage applications.

Microsoft OneDrive can be used for file storage and collaboration and is included with your FAU Microsoft 365 account. When sharing and storing files, ensure that any sensitive or confidential information is properly protected (e.g., password-protected or encrypted) and complies with security guidelines.
