VPN FortiClient connection using a hotspot

In order to properly connect a hotspot device to VPN (FortiClient) please follow the steps below:

Obtain IP Address in Command Prompt

  1. Open the command prompt application 
  2. Enter nslookup vpnboca.fau.edu in your terminal
  3. Press Enter 
  4. Locate the IP address for vpnboca.fau.edu  (shown below hightlighted)

Add the new connection within the FortiClient Application Do not delete previous connection

 

  1. Open the FortiClient Console
  2. Select the three lines 
  3. Click on add new connection

  1. Enter Connection Name: Boca VPN Hotspot
  2. Remote Gateway: IP address obtained above 
  3. Enable "Single Sign On (SSO) for VPN Tunnel"
  4. Enable "Use external browser as user-agent for saml user authentication"
