New iOS/iPadOS Enrollment Setup in Intune

This KB will cover new Mac enrollment from Apple School Manager to sync into Intune for Automatic Enrollment

As a reminder, to make use of Company Portal to push apps and sign in as a primary user the iPad has to be on iOS 14 at a minimum

  1. Sign in Apple School Manager
    1. Click Devices
    2. Input the device serial number you can input multiple if you are doing more than one
      1. Now edit MDM

  2. Select FAU-Intune for the MDM

  1. Once this is complete, then confirm it's in Intune
    1. Select iOS/iPadOS devices and Enrollment
      1. Select enrollment program tokens
        1. Devices

  1. It will be assigned a default profile for automatic enrollment
    1. Work with your Intune Administrator if any issues with this part or to assign a different profile

 

  1. Power up the device and it will prompt you to select the language
    1. Next, it will ask you for your country or region
  2. Click the setup Manually
  3. Choose the Wi-Fi network to get enrollment started
    1. Choose EDUROAM
      1. Sign in with your NetID credentials
    2. Prompt you to “Trust” the certificate
    3. Click Next once it connects
  4. Click Don’t transfer Apps & Data
  5. Remote Management Screen will prompt (this is your confirmation that automatic enrollment is set)
    1. Click Next

  1. Next screen will say it's installing the Configuration
  1. Create a Passcode
  2. Click Continue for “Keep Your iPad Up to Date.”
  3. Click Continue to set up Siri or you can click “set up later in settings.s”
  4. Screen time, you can continue or click “setup later in settings.”
  5. Finally, will see Welcome to iPad
    1. Click “Get Started.”
  6. Now you will launch into the iPad
  7. Confirm you see the management profile when you go to settings >general

  1. Finally sign in or create an Apple ID so that you can receive any apps that are pushed from Intune can now be received
  2. Intune Company Portal will install automatically
    1. Make sure the user that the device will be assigned to signs in to ensure proper assignment and authentication
    2. It will prompt to update, but if your iPad can’t support iOS 14 then your device will no longer be supported and will need to be replaced
