About eduroam
eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and higher education community. It allows FAU students, faculty, and staff to use their FAU credentials to obtain internet connectivity not only here on campus but also when visiting thousands of other participating institutions globally. Wherever you see the "eduroam" network name, you can get online instantly using your FAU_NetID@fau.edu and password.
Connecting to eduroam
Connecting on Windows OS
- Click Wi-Fi icon in the lower right-hand corner.
- Select eduroam and click Connect.
- Enter your username as FAU_NetID@fau.edu and FAU Password, then click Connect.
- If prompted about the certificate, tap Trust in the top right.
Connecting on Mac OS
- Click Wi-Fi icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Select eduroam
- If eduroam is not in the initial list, look under Other Networks.
- Enter your Account Name as as FAU_NetID@fau.edu and FAU Password,.
- Ensure Remember this information is checked and click OK.
- Click Continue of the "Verify Certificate" window to trust the network.
Connecting on iOS (iPhone/iPad)
- Open Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Select eduroam.
- Enter your FAU_NetID@fau.edu and Password, then tap Join.
- If prompted about the certificate, tap Trust in the top right.
Connecting on Android & Google Pixel
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi (or Internet).
- Select eduroam.
- EAP Method: PEAP
- If this fails on a newer Pixel, try TTLS
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
- If you used TTLS above, select PAP.
- CA Certificate: Select Trust on First Use (or "Do Not Validate")
- Identity: Enter your FAU_NetID@fau.edu.
- Anonymous Identity: Leave this blank
- Tip: If you have trouble connecting, manually delete the word "anonymous" from this field.
- Password: Enter your FAU password.
- Tap Connect.
- When the Security Certificate screen appears, select Trust or Connect.
