How to connect to Eduroam

Eduroam is an world wide roaming service for users in higher education. It provides professors and students easy and secure network access when visiting an institution other than their own. Wherever you see ‘eduroam’ appear in your list of Wi-Fi networks, you can get online using your FAU credentials. 

Connecting to Eduroam using Windows

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon on your device.
  2. Select Eduroam and click Connect
  3. Username: enter your FAU NetID
  4. Password: enter your FAU password 

 

Connecting to Eduroam using Mac OS

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Click on “eduroam.”
  3. Username: enter your FAU NetID
  4. Password: enter your FAU password
  5. Click “Join.”
  6. You are now connected to eduroam and you may begin to browse.

Connecting to Eduroam using iOS

  1. Click on “Settings” from your home screen.
  2. Click “Wi-Fi.”
  3. Select “eduroam” from the list of Wi-Fi networks.
  4. Username: enter your FAU NetID
  5. Password: enter your FAU password
  6. Click “Join.”
  7. When prompted about the certificate, click “Trust.”
  8. You are now connected to eduroam and you may begin to browse.

Connecting to Eduroam using Android

  1. Click on “Settings” from your home screen.
  2. Click “Network & Internet.”
  3. Click “Wi-Fi.”
  4. Select “eduroam.”
  5. Identity: FAU NetID
  6. ​​​​​​​Password: FAU password 
  7. CA Certificate: Select “Do not validate” for the CA certificate. (Your phone will show “No certificate specified. Your connection will not be private.”  
  8. Click “Save.”
  9. You are now connected to eduroam and you may begin to browse.
