Campus-Licensed Software

FAU provides access to a variety of software applications and licensing options for students, faculty, and staff. Some software is available at no cost, while other software may have eligibility restrictions, require approval, or have an associated cost.

Before you begin: Access to FAU-provided software depends on your current FAU status and the eligibility requirements for each product. Access to licensed software may be removed when you are no longer an active FAU student, faculty member, staff member, or employee.

The software below is available to eligible members of the FAU community. Availability varies by product and FAU role.

Software Availability Access or Renewal Information
Microsoft 365 Available at no cost to active FAU students, faculty, and staff. Microsoft 365 includes access to supported Microsoft productivity applications and services while you maintain an eligible active FAU status. For installation, access, and licensing information, see Microsoft 365.
Microsoft Copilot Available to eligible active FAU students, faculty, and staff. For information about Microsoft Copilot access, features, and usage, visit the Microsoft Copilot Knowledge Base.
Adobe Express and Acrobat Pro Availability varies by product and FAU role. For eligibility, access, and installation information, see Adobe Express and Acrobat Pro.
Grammarly Premium Available to active FAU faculty, staff, and students. For activation and installation instructions, see Grammarly.
Mathematica Available for FAU-owned computers and personally owned computers used by eligible faculty, staff, and students. For access, activation, and installation instructions, see Mathematica.
Minitab Available at no cost to active FAU faculty and students. Minitab uses FAU account sign-in for access. For sign-in and additional information, see Minitab.
SPSS Available to active FAU faculty and students. The SPSS license file expires annually on June 30 and must be renewed. For current installation guides and license information, see SPSS Installation Information.
Qualtrics Available to FAU administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Sign in using your FAU credentials at FAU Qualtrics.
Note: Licensing and renewal requirements vary by software. Some products remain available while you maintain an eligible active FAU status, while others may require periodic license renewal or reactivation.

JourneyEd Educational Discounts

FAU has an agreement with JourneyEd that provides educational discounts to eligible members of the FAU community.

  • Students: JourneyEd provides access to discounted software for eligible personal purchases.
  • Faculty and Staff: JourneyEd provides discounted software, hardware, and other educational items for eligible personal purchases.

Virtual Apps and Apporto

FAU provides browser-based access to supported virtual applications through Apporto. Apporto allows eligible users to access available software without installing the applications directly on their computer.

Apporto can be accessed from supported web browsers on PCs, Macs, tablets, and other compatible devices with an internet connection. Available applications may vary depending on how Apporto is accessed and the user's eligibility.

Good to know: Apporto may be accessed through the FAU Apporto web portal or through participating Canvas courses. The applications available through each method may differ.

OIT also manages software that may require approval, have limited availability, or have an associated licensing cost. Available software and licensing terms vary by product.
