Remote Desktop to your office computer

Once you have:

• Received VPN access, request access here if you haven't already.
• Enabled Remote Desktop on your desktop computer, instructions available here
• Installed the Fortinet client on the laptop or home computer you will be using to connect with, instructions available here
• You MUST be connected to Fortinet prior to proceeding. 
• Look up your office Computer Host Name.
  • To find this: 
    • In the bottom left hand corner where it says "Type here to search": enter "About your PC". The full device name will need to be entered for the computer in the remote desktop connection.​​​​​​​
    • ​​​​​​​On your laptop/home computer/desktop, type Remote Desktop Connection in the search to open Remote Desktop Connection:

• Type in the full device name (.ad.fau.edu is required) and then connect. A box will come up to prompt you for your credentials, enter FAU\username and password > connect.
