E-mail @ FAU
FAU provides a computer login account (FAUNet ID), to all faculty, staff and students. which includes e-mail. You can use MyFAU (the university's web portal), for links to your e-mail, or you can set up Outlook or other mail clients on your computer to access it.
Students
Effective November 16th, all new admits (Graduate, Undergraduate, Non-Degree, etc) will be provided Office 365 (Outlook) email accounts.
All existing students will have the option to opt-in to an Outlook 365 mailbox up until April 2023 when all current students will be moved to Outlook 365.
To identify which email platform you should be using, log-in to MyFAU and your email icon will reflect the appropriate platform.
- If you see the Gmail icon below, then your email is Google Owl Mail (Gmail):

Owl Mail provides:
- If you see the Outlook icon below, then your email is Outlook 365:

Outlook 365 provides:
- Access to Outlook email, Teams, OneDrive, Office suite, and other Office 365 apps.
- 25MB limit on Email Attachment Size
- FAUNet_ID @fau.edu email address
- Login to Outlook Web Access at outlook.fau.edu
Existing FAU Alumni will continue with access to the Owl Mail and Owl Apps as long as they are actively using their account. Inactivity after 6 months will result in your account being removed.
Faculty & Staff
FAU provides each staff member with a Microsoft Office 365 email account. This email account is linked to your FAUnet ID and both share the same username and password. Office 365 email accounts provide:
- Email, Contacts, Calendars, Documents, and Tasks using Office 365
- Mobile Phone, and web access services are provided
- 25MB limit on Email Attachment Size
- FAUNet_ID @fau.edu email address
- Login to Outlook Web Access at outlook.fau.edu
