Respondus LockDown Browser is a "client" application that is installed to local computers.
The LockDown Browser software has been installed in most FAU instructional and open labs. Students wishing to take an assessment requiring LockDown Browser from their own computer must first install the software:

When taking a Lockdown Browser assessment in Canvas, you should always go through the Quizzes area of your course, rather than another area such as Modules.
System Requirements are:
Windows:
Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7,
4 MB of permanent space on the hard drive
Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher (configured to the requirements for the learning management system)
Mac:
Macintosh 10.5 or higher
3 MB of permanent space on the hard drive
Safari 4.x or higher (configured to the requirements for the learning management system)
