Trouble installing Microsoft Office 365 suite on my computer

Before submitting a ticket, please review the steps below on how to access and install Microsoft Office 365 on your computer. If you are having trouble installing, please submit a ticket. 

 

Install on Your Personal Computer

As an active faculty/staff/student, you have access to the Microsoft Office 365 suite, which includes Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive and OneNote. 

You can:

  • install Microsoft Office 365 on up to 5 personal devices. 
  • use OneDrive for automatic device syncing

What to know before you install Office 365:

  • To access and activate your Office 365 subscription use your FAU email and password.
  • Office 365 will be deactivated once you leave FAU, this includes OneDrive access.
    • OneDrive is only available while you maintain an active student or employee status.
  • To install Office 365 you need to have administrator rights on the computer. 
  • iPhone/iPad/Tablets/smartphones- Download from App Store and activate with FAU email and password. The Apps will maintain the ability to read documents after your FAU activation expires.

To download Office 365:

  1. If you already have a copy of Office installed on your computer we recommend removing any older versions before installing the new version.
  2. Visit portal.office.com and log in with your FAU email address (FAUNet_ID@fau.edu).
  3. Select Work or school account. You will be redirected to SSO log in page. 
  4. Click on Install and more in the upper right corner and select Install Microsoft 365 apps.
  5. The installation file will download. Click open and then follow the prompts.
