Remote Desktop using your IP Address

To Remote Desktop using the IP address, you must first know the IP address of the desktop computer that you are trying to remote into. You can create a ticket request here if you would like assistance with retreiving the IP address of your work computer.

Otherwise, you can retrieve the IP address of your computer by following these steps:

  1. Login to any computer connected to Pulse Secure or the FAU network
  2. Type CMD into the search to pull up the Command Prompt
  3. Type NSLOOKUP (insert Office Computer name) and select Enter. The IP address is the numbers and periods listed after the second Address:. Write down and save the IP address.

For example the IP address of the computer BOC22DT-98A006 is 10.16.9.208

Now that you have your IP address to your work computer, you can use the IP address to use Remote Desktop off-site.

  1. Login to your home computer
  2. Connect to Pulse Secure. If you are unfamiliar with this process, you can use the instructions listed here
  3. Open Remote Desktop > Type your IP address > Connect
  4. Sign-in with your FAU credentials

If you have any issues connecting with your IP address, try following these instructions listed here instead.
